After a grt nights rest we went into the cold to discover Holland. Charne could not resist playing with the ice on the window. Here is Theo putting some anti-freeze on the windows of their car. We South Africans are not used to this:


Our first destination was Keringhuis. This is one of the last big projects the Netherlands completed to ensure that the lower laying area of the country is not flooded. I could not get very good pics showing what this huge water barrier looks like.

Our next destination was Kinderdijk. Here you will see how the people of Netherland used new technology to replace all the windmills that pumps the water into diffirent canals to keep the water levels low:

Our last amazing destination was Delft. Below you will see one of the old churches we visited. We went all the way to the tower lookout. What an amazing experience it was going to the different levels of the clock towers. And the view from above was just amazing - the church below is called New Church - its more than 600 years old:

We did a littlle tourist shopping - here is Charne and Aneleh showing off traditional shoes from Holland:
